Science:  Watched a short film about 1)  solid, liquid and gas, 2) pressure  3) temperature.  We passed around tiny coffee cups that went to 2500 feet below the surface of the ocean in a basket outside of a submarine.... see this link

OAKS Testing

Math:  We have been preparing for and participating in the OAKS state assessment this week. 
Science:  Students have been working on their foldable notes for solid, liquid and gas from chapter 4.
Homework:  get a good night's sleep and eat good food to be prepared for testing.

Science:  SPICE scientists came and we collected data on foot size and height.  We discussed science fair project ideas. 
Solid, Liquid Gas vocab notes in foldables. 
Vaporization, Condensation, Freezing, Melting,  Solid, crystalline solid, amorphous solid.
Homework:  Students can prepare for Block Test Friday or work on their foldables for science.

UO Spice Program visit

Math:  Lesson 5 notes on the commutative property and the associative property.   
Science:  SPICE program students came and presented information on the scientific method and we did an activity with mystery boxes.


Homework:  Math, Block 1 Review ALL due Friday (class time tomorrow).  Block Test Friday
Science:  Come up with at least two science projects you would like to try to share with the SPICE students next week.

Experimental Probabilty!

Math:  Warm-up, Lesson 16 and 17;  Experimental Probability.  Homework time.

Science:  Brain Pop short video.  Draw molecule masterpieces.  Chapter 3 Assessment in Science Book assigned.  Page 100 (1-15).  Write complete sentences;  this assignment is due Wednesday and can be used on the Chapter 3 TEST Wednesday.

Homework:  Lesson 16 and 17 math ALL due Tuesday.  Science Ch 3 Assessment 1-15 due Wednesday.  Block 3 Math Test Thursday.

Scores sent home

Math:  New seats,  Warm-up, corrected, collected.  Easy CBM score graphs passed out for fall and winter scores.  Our class is showing lots of growth. Students should show you their graphs.

Science:  Chemicals have formulas.  We completed molecule matching, great combinations, and will draw molecules on Monday. 

Next week:  Math Block Test,  Science Chapter 3 Test.
